Vetafarm Calcivet is a bird and small animal supplement. Calcium supplements are necessary for birds and small mammals where dietary intake is inadequate as calcium is critical for the normal functioning of many body systems, but especially for bone formation and egg laying. Seed diets, meat diets and most vegetable diets are low in calcium and unsupplemented diets may lead to poor bone growth, loss of bone strength, weak egg shells or muscle weakness. Young birds and animals are most prone to Calcium deficiencies and adequate amounts must be provided to allow the youngster to develop normally.
