Biotin, more than any other nutrient, affects the growth and strength of hoof walls and soles. Feeding biotin at levels well above those found in feedstuffs improves the quality of hoof growth. Bio-Hoof Care & Repair is recommended for horses suffering from split, shelly or cracked hooves.

Hooves take time to grow. It takes time for a new, stronger horn to be produced and appear as hoof. Treatment for 3-6 months allows time for new growth to move down the hoof.

PROPERTIES:
Bio-Hoof Care & Repair has been formulated to provide the essential elements required for the growth of healthy hooves. The growth of a strong resilient hoof wall depends on an adequate supply of the vitamin biotin and the minerals calcium, sulphur and zinc. The protein keratin, formed from these micro-nutrients, gives strength to the hoof wall.

Research has shown that to regrow a healthy hoof takes between 6-9 months. In addition it has shown that such horses require good quality, balanced rations to ensure proper hoof growth and condition.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
Mix dose with feed, and dose as shown below. One level scoop contains approximately 35g.

450kg horse: 20g/day
200kg pony: 10g / day

The above doses may be doubled for the first two weeks of a course of usage. Ideally this product should be used for not less than 30 days and up to 6 months in order for the new hoof to grow out.
